Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe confirm tour

As mentioned here a few weeks ago, Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have announced a co-headline tour in support of their new albums. Two of the world’s premier indie-folk artists found fame with their debut albums, Sigh No More and Up From Below respectively. They will play all major centres and a couple of regional centres with the Melbourne show on 25th October at Rod Laver Arena.
The most interesting part of this announcement is yet to even be finalised. Mumford & Sons have been running an event known as Gentlemen of the Road, a one-day ‘festival’ at a hand-picked location. The Australian chapter will be the seventh time they have hosted the event, which has been held in Bristol, Monterey and Portland and has featured the like of The Maccabees, The Vaccines, St Vincent, Justin Townes Earle, Jeff the Brotherhood, The Very Best and Grouplove. If this is anything to go by, this could be more excited than the headline shows.
